Review by Ken Randall - Former DJ, Western Australia 12.4.19  Danny Boy' - Destiny Band Oz.

"My radio show was not for cover songs, I spun the new, unheard of songs.  'Danny Boy' had been thrashed so much over the years that I had really grown a dislike to the song.  I saw the title and said to myself, 'here goes, that same old song'. However, WOW! I was in for a surprise! Destiny Band Oz's version really grabbed me!  I like to think I am emotionally tough these days however this stunning voice and song style physically messed with me! - In a nice way! Yea, brought tears to my eyes.  This song shows off Tessa Libreri's vocal ability, hitting those high notes, almost at Heaven's level; pure, sweet and on-key. The voice is selling the song rather than the instruments which take a low profile, subtly complementing the voice.  I am hearing the lovely vibrato and lilt in the vocals. It's the unhurried pace, the pauses blended with the well-matched piano notes that are making it all so beautiful.

There may be no gold button on America's Got Talent, that's a big hit, however, in my view,

it's a golden version of the song".

When you're in your 'happy place' your

worries and cares just seem to melt away. This uplifting country ballad written and sung by Tessa Libreri is about where she finds her 'peace of mind'.

A heritage ballad from Destiny Band Oz's album called 'Changes' (and is also a bonus track on the 'Special Songs' EP) sung by Thomas Libreri. It is about his parents emigrating from Malta to Australia in the late 1940s and is a touching tribute to his mother's great courage in travelling alone and so far from everything she had known, at such a young age to settle in a new land. Composed originally in Maltese by Thomas Libreri and played at the 2018 biennial Latrobe Valley Maltese Festa held in Morwell, Vic. and was aired on commercial TV and radio in Malta and presented to the Maltese Prime Minister, Dr. Joseph Muscat during his 2018 Australian visit. The English lyrics and backing vocals of this version are by Tessa Libreri; guitar by Thomas Libreri;

Destiny Band Oz is the registered recording and performing name of Australian singer-songwriter-recording artists and musicians,Thomas and Tessa Libreri and was so named as it seemed like 'destiny' that they met! Primarily a duo with their own band, they've been performing together for years but only released their first original song to radio in 2017. Thomas and Tessa write, record and produce their music independently and do not always perform with their full lineup.  ('Band Oz' was added to the name 'Destiny' once they started to release their music when it became apparent there were a lot of bands around the world going by the name 'Destiny' and their music was getting all mixed up with other artists).

Thomas and Tessa are now based in Gippsland, Victoria, relocating from Kinglake after the tragic Black Saturday Bushfires which they fought and saved friends and neighbours (Thomas was presented with a Bravery Medal by the Governor General for his actions saving a neighbour on that day who tragically passed away 3 weeks later) the experience was life-changing and led them to relocate to Gippsland.  After taking some time out to re-establish, the realisation that life is so fragile prompted the pair to record their first album of original songs they had written over the years (moreso for posterity than anything else) but when their music was heard by some people in the country music industry, they were strongly encouraged to release their music to radio.  Since that first release in 2017,  they’ve officially released 8 singles from 3 albums and 2 EPs and have been blessed with great chart successes in Australia and overseas with many #1 hits, (7 number one songs in Tasmania -plus National and International #1s!).  Awards include:

*Gold Medallion Media Award for Best Duo or Group 2018 (Tamworth Country Music Festival).

*2018 National Country Band of the Year at the TICM Awards

*2018 & 2019 Clouzine International Music Awards x 2 Best Indie Song Awards

*Overall Number 1 Song for 2017 in Tasmania

Plus Finalists in: *2018 Australian ICMA Awards;  2018 Australian Songwriters Association Awards; *2018 ASA Rudy Brandsma award; *3 categories 2018 Josie Music Awards USA; *2018 Southern Stars Country Music Awards; *2019 Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards (and semifinalists in 2 other categories); *2017 & 2018 Tasmanian Independent Country Music Awards (4 categories) and awards for their 2017 #1 hits; *2017 and 2018 People's Choice Music Awards and *2017 and 2018 Gold Medallion Media Awards (winning 2018).
